From new, used and refurbished cell phones updates seem to take ages when on an Android device. You hear about the lateast and greatest update only to find out your phone isn’t getting one for weeks, months or not at all. So what’s the deal? Why do Apple products get updates seemingly faster than all Android devices? Why does one phone get an update and dozens others either take months, or never get it? Well, we got the answers after the break!
On today’s edition of Best Android Phone Reviews we’re going to check out the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. This is my personal phone and, so far, all time favorite phone. I have been a fan of Motorola devices for a while, and although they have had a questionable record of quality, they certainly have outdone themselves with the new Razr line. Motorola used to be known for their trendy sleek Razr lines back in the feature phone days and they haven’t been seen for years, until now! Check the full review after the break for more details!
The Google Now Widget, for those that don’t know, is Google’s response to Apple’s Siri, but a bit smarter. I don’t mean “smarter” as in Google did it well, I mean that it is Siri that actually learns from you. Essentially Google Now is linked into every single Google account you have. From Maps, to Google+ to your own Google search history (as long as you’re logged in while doing it), it compiles all of this information and anticipates what you want to do, what you will do and what you may need in the immediate future.
We’ve seen this all before, a new fad (if it is just a fad) comes along and gets super popular. Suddenly dozens of companies come out with their own version of that new exciting thing and sometimes it leads to a few very good devices changing the way we live… Or it over saturates the market and kills it, I’m looking at you Guitar Hero. It seems health is on everyone’s mind the past few years. With Wii Fit bringing a virtual trainer into your room, we have seen an explosion of new and innovative athletic devices geared toward helping you live better and healthier. From Kinect, to wrist bands to chest straps, lets go over what was, is, and will be around soon!
Windows Surface Pro went on sale last week and no one was sure how the public would react to the new device. The Windows RT didn’t sell wonderfully, but it also wasn’t terrible. Knowing that, some people expected doom and gloom with the Surface Pro’s release. Were people still excited? Maybe they were just waiting for the Pro instead of purchases a truncated version of Windows 8 in tablet form. That seems to be the case, at least with its immediate release. Several businesses has announced that their stock of the 128GB version of the Surface has sold out, leaving the 64GB version still scattered about at some locations.
Did I get your attention? Good, because RIM isn’t dead, just the name. RIM, creators of the Blackberry line of smartphones, has now dropped their business name for simply “Blackberry”. The change makes sense, since most people, when talking about RIM devices, reference them as Blackberry anyway. This announcement was the first of many in a big press event yesterday to celebrate Blackberry 10 release. What is Blackberry 10 and what else did they show off? Learn more after the break!
