We’ve haven’t given Apple much news coverage lately, mostly because there isn’t much news to give. Apples iPad Mini, though a new product, isn’t anything new hardware and technology wise. in fact, it’s just a smaller version of a much older iPad. But the iPhone 5 is still around and still selling very well, as it should. The iPhone 5 is a solid device with a strong brand behind it all, not to mention iOS. Although the iPhone 5 isn’t new, folks still want it and may only be able to upgrade just now. So, should you upgrade to an iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, or go for a different brand all together?

Perhaps the most drastic change for Microsoft since Windows 95 comes Windows 8. A metro style user interface that looks sleek, loads fast and has barely any resemblance to any Windows operating system before it… and it’s coming out tomorrow. Preordering the pro version from Amazon will get you a $30 Amazon gift card, as well as dropping the price from $200 to $70 (an unheard of discount). So get on Amazon quickly to nab your copy before the sale ends. But what should you expect? Well, the Windows 8 reviews are out and we have a few things for you to look out for while you find your way around this new operating system.

If you don’t know about Kickstarter, your mind is about to be blown. Not because it is an amazing website with cool ideas, but because of how much money is flowing through that site everyday. Kickstarter is a site where you can post your business idea or product. It can be anything from a game, to a new printer design. You post the product, the amount of money you claim you need to get started, and an end date for the funding. Extra incentive is added by making individual goals for the people giving money. For example, a new phone application may give you the product for free, once it’s released, if you donate $20 or more. What is even cooler about the site is that if a product reaches it’s dollar goal… it stays up until the end date. Some products asking for $500k end up with over 2 million dollars by the end date. All financed by individuals!

With Microsoft releasing surface and Windows 8 in the next coming months more and more info has been spilling out to give customers an idea of what they are in for. SmartGlass, if you’re unaware, is an “app” that will connect all your digital devices together even if it’s a refurbished cell phone. So they will feel more like limbs of a single device, as oppose to devices connected via bluetooth. The idea goes along with Windows 8 new metro design that will be across all windows device. Such as their phones, tablets, PC and even the Xbox (which was updated today with a quasi Windows 8 look). But what is the first SmartGlass app to surface this coming year?

So the launch of iPhone 5 has come and gone. More than a week has passed and now that everyone has had time to fiddle with the new iPhone there is more of an idea of what everyone is dealing with. Ultimately everyone wants to know what you get with the 5 that you don’t get with the 4s, and if it is ultimately worth the upgrade. It all really depends on what iPhone you actually have.
