It’s no secret I am kind of cheering the Windows 7 phone line along. I don’t actually own one, but I am intrigued by Nokia’s big push and sleek phone designs along with a rather sleek new Windows interface. Not to mention integration with my computer and Xbox. So far it hasn’t proven itself to me yet, but it seems it has proven itself to some analysts who make a living off of cellphone business guesswork.

NPD just did a market study that has a few shocks here and there, but it was mostly expected as Android pulls ahead of all competition. Google’s ability to offer their OS across various price points gives them the advantage as Apple pulls in a strong second with their more limited choices. But what about the other smart phone OS’s? Looks like Google is celebrating its ten Billionth download by offering several apps and games for 10 cents! I’m a big fan of Minecraft and seeing it go for ten cents made it an instant buy for me! If you have an Android or Apple iPhone handy you can give Windows phone OS a try by downloading an emulator that does a pretty good job at simulating the new operation system Windows has been touting the last few months. Facebook has dipped its toes into the cellphone world already, but most people actually don’t know it. A while back Facebook claimed it was working on its very own phone, dedicated to phone calls and, well, Facebook. These plans seemed to have fallen through as no word of such a phone has come out of the woodwork since then. But now it seems Facebook has chosen HTC to make their Facebook phone for them. So… what does this mean exactly and what should we expect from such a phone?
