For this edition of the best android phone app reviews we’re going to take a look at Tamagotchi l.i.f.e. a game that is probably meant to be more nostalgic than useful. This game was released about a month ago and I gave it a shot mostly for reliving my childhood. I had a tamagotchi when I was really young and this game is exactly that, Tamagotchi. It’s light on features with slight upgrades to graphics, but not much else. Check out the full review after the break.

Our first contenders are the Blackberry 9530 Storm and the Blackberry 9550 Storm 2. Upon first glance there are only slight differences, especially in their physical structure. For instance, the 9530 Storm 1 has physical buttons below it’s screen, while the 9550 storm 2 has those buttons melded into the touchscreen display, making them touch as oppose to separate buttons. The other buttons are all physical on both devices, but the Storm 2 has more of a streamlined look, while the storm 1 has buttons that pop out of the body more with a chrome finish.

Today TheBlueDot.net reviews the HTC Droid Incredible for Verizon Wireless one of the best Verizon phones of 2010, the specific grade type we’re reviewing in the video is a refurbished cell phone. The HTC Droid Incredible was released April 2010 as one of HTC flagship Android devices. Even though it has been a couple years, it still manages to keep up with the best mid-range Android devices out there. The Incredible’s design was emulated in future HTC devices for a couple years, seeing hints of it’s design in the Evo and even their Mytouch series.

Consumer Reports, one of the most influential product review magazines, has decided not to recommend Apple’s latest iPhone to consumers. The magazine giant, around since 1936, said the device has significant issues involving reception.
“When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone’s lower left side — an easy thing, especially for lefties — the signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you’re in an area with a weak signal.”
Apple has acknowledged that this is a reoccurring problem with their new device. They chalked the problem up to faulty software, but Consumer Reports seems to doubt that. The side rail on the housing of the phone is designed to be an antenna. Placing your fingers on it can disrupt your signal. Realistically, where else are you supposed to put your fingers? Apple has announced a software update to be released in the coming weeks, but has yet to fess up to any hardware issues.
The magazine offered a potential quick fix to those who have already purchased the phone and are experiencing problems. “An affordable solution for suffering iPhone 4 users: Cover the antenna gap with a piece of duct tape or another thick, non-conductive material. It may not be pretty, but it works.” Somehow, I don’t think that will go over well with consumers who just shelled out top dollar for the latest, greatest technology.
The magazine did give the phone high marks for its display and the phone’s camera, calling it the best they’ve seen on any phone. It also offers high praises for the devices improved battery life over its predecessor and several of the new features including the front facing camera.
The magazine says they will not recommend the device until “a permanent—and free—fix for the antenna problem” is delivered by Apple, until that time, they recommend purchasing the older, 3G model. If this influential publication’s review isn’t a wake-up call for Apple, I would expect a lot of angry consumers.

Well the rumors proved true even in regards to the name of the new Google Phone – The Nexus One. Google fans are overwhelmingly excited about the Nexus one but even more excited about what the Google Store means for the new and refurbished cell phone industry.
The Nexus One is running the newest Android 2.1 software and comes with all of the awesome, pre-loaded apps like: Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk, and additional goodies like Maps Navigation and Google Voice. Its processor is insanely fast, it’s got a five-megapixel camera, and it shoots video as well. The Nexus one also has a really cool new feature, which is a voice-enabled keyboard for any text field. This means you don’t have to type at all anymore. Searching for a YouTube video? Just tell your phone what video you are looking for, and the Nexus One will type the search for you. The craziest part of the Nexus One announcement is that it’s for sale at Google’s new web store as unlocked. For the first time ever in the US, you can purchase an unlocked phone from the manufacturer’s website and then pick the phone plan you want from any of the carriers that support the phone. Google’s store could seriously shake the pillars of what is the current mobile phone market in the US. It will be interesting to see how long companies like AT&T play along.
